Blink-182 stepped away from their extended break over the weekend, trading standard arena stages for a private gathering in the California desert. On Saturday night, October 3, Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, and Travis Barker set up at the Zenyara estate in the Coachella Valley, running through a short eight-song set in front of a small crowd. It was an unusually close-quarters environment for three musicians who have spent most of the past year entirely off the road.
The weekend performance also cleared up a brief mystery for fans who follow the band online. Earlier in the week, Hoppus had shared a picture on his Instagram Stories of several guitars lined up inside a rehearsal space. The post quickly sparked curiosity about what the trio was working toward, and the desert appearance turned out to be the reason for bringing the instruments out of storage. Before taking the stage at Zenyara, the group had not played together since May, when they staged an unexpected performance in Los Angeles organized with Mercedes-Benz.
Those two isolated appearances represent the band's only live dates of 2026 so far. Since wrapping up their massive Missionary Impossible tour in October of last year, the musicians have maintained a quiet schedule. For an act known for long stretches of global touring, these sporadic private dates work as low-key tune-ups while the members take time away from full production runs.
The smaller venue did not lead to any acoustic retooling or downshifted arrangements. Working without any extra stage production, the trio kept the tempo high and stayed focused on their most direct material. They opened the performance with Feeling This and The Rock Show, followed quickly by Man Overboard and the quick burst of Fuck Face. The back half of the set remained centered on standard catalog favorites, moving through What's My Age Again?, Dammit, First Date, and All The Small Things.
The live calendar will look substantially different once next summer arrives. Blink-182 already have a busy European itinerary lined up for June 2027, including appearances at Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park, along with standalone headline dates in Paris, Berlin, and Milan. They are also scheduled to play the Rock For People festival, joining a lineup that includes Faith No More and Architects, while fans continue to discuss whether the group might also lock down their first headlining slot at Download Festival.
Between these occasional stage appearances, the band has also paid attention to their older catalog. They recently put out a 25th anniversary streaming release of Take Off Your Pants And Jacket, pairing the original 13 tracks with six historic B-sides. Following their 2023 full-length album One More Time, an occasional hit-filled set at a private estate shows the group keeping their performance habits steady before the large festival crowds return.
