PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford hosted the opening night of Olivia Rodrigo's Unraveled tour on September 25, giving audiences the first look at a live staging structured around the calendar year. Supported by Wolf Alice, the Hartford stop served as the concert debut for Rodrigo's third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love, which came out back in June. The resulting two-hour set is divided into six distinct chapters based on the seasons. The show moves systematically through Spring, Summer, Summer Twilight, Autumn, and Winter, before returning full circle to a second Spring segment for the close.
Organizing the concert around the changing year gives Rodrigo a framework to place songs where their moods connect rather than strictly grouping them by album. The opening Spring chapter launched with Drop Dead, the lead single from the June release. Rodrigo kept the momentum going with U + Me =, So American, and Good 4 U, linking her earliest radio material directly to the latest tracklist.
The production picked up speed in the Summer chapter, using a punchier tempo across My Way, Bad Idea Right?, and Ballad Of A Homeschooled Girl. The segment also introduced Serena Joy, the politically charged standalone track that arrived last month following an initial pressing of only 500 physical CD copies. The temperature cooled as the staging moved into Summer Twilight, where Rodrigo grouped Vampire alongside Purple, bringing a slower pace and establishing a noticeably darker atmosphere.
The Autumn section focused squarely on the newer songs. Rodrigo moved through Stupid Song, Maggots For Brains, Begged, and Cigarette Smoke, using the familiar chords of Traitor as an anchor in the middle of that run. When the concert transitioned into Winter, the presentation took a quieter, more personal direction. Honeybee opened the sequence, followed by a continuous medley that joined Favorite Crime, Making The Bed, and Teenage Dream before sliding straight into Drivers License. The subdued staging in this chapter also opened up space for unscripted audience moments. Rodrigo paused the music to lead the arena in singing Happy Birthday to her mother. Moments later, during Less, she reached off the front of the stage to hold the hand of an audience member crying in the front rows.
The show's most intricate technical moment came near the end of that Winter sequence during The Cure. Streams of artificial rain poured over the stage, and the water dissolved Rodrigo's white gown in real time, exposing a red outfit hidden underneath. That visual break cleared the way for the second Spring segment, which functioned as the final act of the concert. Rodrigo wrapped up the Hartford performance with a closing sequence of Deja Vu, All-American Bitch, and Expectations.
Promoters originally announced the Unraveled tour in April, though demand quickly forced multiple expansions to the routing. Those additions include an eleven-night residency at London's O2 arena scheduled between April 5 and May 10, 2027. While Wolf Alice took the stage in Hartford, subsequent dates will rotate supporting slots between The Last Dinner Party, Devon Again, Grace Ives, and Die Spitz as the seasonal production moves to other cities.
