Sam Fender is scaling up again. After stepping back from headline touring for the entirety of 2026, the North Shields songwriter has scheduled the Proper Massive Stadium Tour for the summer of 2027, taking in some of the largest sports grounds across the UK and Europe. The run marks the biggest series of headline concerts he has ever assembled, arriving alongside the first concrete steps toward his fourth studio album.
Rumours had been circulating since the weekend, when an advertisement reading SF27 flickered onto the pitchside screens at St James' Park during Newcastle United's fixture against Aston Villa. Fender then shared footage of his band members arguing about who would be allowed to trigger pyrotechnics during their live set. The clip did not name cities or stadiums, but fans quickly started piecing together the routing.
The confirmed itinerary begins where Fender's stadium ambitions first took root. He will open the tour with two evenings at St James' Park on June 3 and June 5. Newcastle has already hosted him at this level before, with Fender drawing capacity crowds to the ground for two nights back in 2023 and returning for three shows in 2025. From Tyneside, the production travels south to Wales for an appearance at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on June 10, before moving on to Wembley Stadium for concerts on June 18 and June 20. Those two London nights will serve as the biggest headline gigs of his career so far. Wunderhorse will provide support across all the stadium dates.
July opens with an outdoor gig at Marlay Park in Dublin on July 1, followed quickly by Fender's first European festival headline slot at Rock Werchter in Belgium on July 3. He then travels north to Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on July 8, before closing this leg of dates with two nights at Manchester's Etihad Stadium on July 15 and July 17.
Anyone studying the itinerary will spot a clear space between the second Wembley night on June 20 and the Dublin show on July 1. That window happens to align with Glastonbury Festival, scheduled for June 23 to June 27. Organisers have not revealed the 2027 bill, but Fender sits near the top of the bookmakers' lists alongside Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Little Simz, and Rihanna. Should he make the trip, it would be his first time performing at Worthy Farm since 2022.
The live campaign is linked directly to Fender's fourth studio album, which is already available for fans to pre-order despite having neither an official title nor a confirmed release date. Those who place a pre-order before 9am on Monday, October 26 will be sent early access codes for a tour pre-sale beginning at 9:30am on Wednesday, October 28. Tickets then go on general sale at 9:30am on Friday, October 30.
The announcement caps a quiet, deliberate year of preparation. Fender chose not to headline any tours in 2026 and released no fresh solo tracks, honouring a decision he spoke about in the summer of 2025 when he announced he was taking a vocal rest to get his voice in optimal shape before stepping into the studio to make a record. That absence did not halt his commercial footprint. His duet with Olivia Dean, Rein Me In, set a new benchmark as the longest-running UK Number One single in history. Fender also picked up Songwriter of the Year honours at the Ivor Novello Awards and collected Song of the Year at the 2026 BRIT Awards. Coming off the deluxe edition of People Watching and the Live At London Stadium concert film, he steps toward this next record and its accompanying stadiums with rare momentum.
