Fresh off the release of their excellent 2018 debut, Years, Austin dream-pop band, Sun June, are set for a much anticipated evening of music this Tuesday at George’s Majestic Lounge. Trust us, this is an absolute gem of a record.
Recorded by Evan Kaspar at Estuary Recording Facility, live to tape, Years is a we’ve-been-broken-up-a-long-time record. It explores how loss—of friends, family members, and partners—evolves over time. But its ten songs aren’t weighed down or overly serious. Layered vocals and warm guitar lines float over simple structures, and no sound is overly polished or processed.
Fayetteville’s Magnolia, which features Lost John songstress Meredith Kimbrough at the helm, will be making a welcomed appearance.
Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 day of the show (plus fees) and available at stubs.net
