Fayetteville Roots Festival Set For Folk Alliance International

Northwest Arkansas will be well represented next week with the Fayetteville Roots Festival set to invade the Folk Alliance International Conference.

Founded in 1989, Folk Alliance International is a non-profit organization that produces an annual conference that is the world’s largest gathering of the folk music industry and community.

Shindigmusic recently spoke with Bernice Hembree of the Fayetteville Roots Festival about their return FAI appearance and their nightly artist showcases featuring

“We’ve been attending and/or hosting a room since FAI was in Memphis.  I think this is our 11th year to attend, the 4th year to host a room, and our second International attendance.  This year we are splitting a suite showcase room with Sweet Beaver/Dollartone Records out of Canada.” – Bernice Hembree

“The showcase room will host musicians from 10:30pm to 2am.  Late nights!  Music pours from every corner of the place hosting.  Each hotel room is transformed into tiny venues.  It’s certainly a one-of-a-kind experience.“ – Bernice Hembree

This years event is set for February 13-17, 2019, in Montréal, Canada.
