SCTV (Second City Television), was a Canadian-produced sketch comedy show that ran in syndication in the U.S. for several years. In 1981 it was picked up by NBC and was seen by millions of viewers weekly over its two year run.

Levon Helm with the Cate Brothers band were the musical guests in “Episode 1”, which aired on May 15, 1981. The episode features cast member Eugene Levy in his portrayal of inneffectual SCTV newsman (and occasional SCTV co-anchor) Earl Camembert “almost interviewing” Levon Helm.
