It’s been a while, but indie rock goddess Jenny Lewis has actually been here before – “here” being George’s Majestic Lounge – and thankfully for anyone with  exceptionally good taste in music, she’s coming back on Wednesday, July 11! If you missed her 2008 show opening for Conor Oberst, or her headlining show with Heartless Bastards in 2009, well, hopefully this third time will be a charm for you!

Unfortunately, there hasn’t been a ton of hard news about Jenny’s forthcoming follow-up to 2014’s amazing Ryan Adams produced album “The Voyager”, but according to Adams’s Instagram she’s been in the studio with him and veteran producer Don Was, and she’s playing a lot of new songs live as well, so chances are we’ll get to hear new music from her at George’s and hopefully we’ll get a new LP later this year!

We here at Shindigmusic are massive Jenny Lewis fans, and out of all the many fantastic shows happening in NWA this summer, this is possibly the one we’re most excited to see! It would be sweet if she was coming through with a reunited Rilo Kiley, but her solo material is every bit as good, and she does usually throw a few Rilo Kiley songs into her sets, so we’re confident that we and everyone else who attends this show will be well satisfied. She also sometimes does a song from her 2016 collaboration with Erika Forster and Tennessee Thomas, Nice As Fuck, so if you dug on that record you might luck out as well. You probably shouldn’t hold your breath for any Jenny & Johnny songs, though, which is a shame because that album was really good.

Jenny is currently hitting the summer festival circuit, and on the leg of her tour that brings her to Fayetteville she’ll be supported by classic country duo The Cactus Blossoms, so if you’re not already familiar with them, bone up on their 2016 release “You’re Dreaming” before this show.

Tickets are on sale and right now they’re $25. If you slack off and wait until the day of the show, they’ll be $30 and there’s a great chance this one will sell out, so stop whatever you’re doing and go make sure you don’t miss out right this instant! Doors are at 7, so don’t be late!
