Over the past seven years, JMBLYA has become one of the most popular music festival destinations in the country and the premier hip-hop festival in Texas with its unique multi-day, multi-city traveling hip-hop festival format. The festival regularly plays host to back-to-back events in Dallas and Austin each May that include upwards of 30,000 attendees across each sold-out day. Past JMBLYA TX lineups have included artists such as Travis Scott, J. Cole, Chance The Rapper, Lil Wayne, Future, Post Malone, Migos, Young Thug, Kevin Gates, Lil Uzi Vert and more.
“We’re always looking to identify new opportunities, and when a colleague came to share their experience with shows in Arkansas, we knew we had to explore it,” said Sascha Stone Guttfreund, president & cofounder of ScoreMore Shows. “Our business has always been about bringing festivals to places that don’t typically have them, and experiences at price points that are more affordable for the fans.”
“Our original intention was for JMBLYA to stay a Texas-centric brand and launch entirely new concepts in new markets like we have with Neon Desert and Mala Luna in addition to our partnerships in Dreamville and Astroworld. But the more time we spent talking to locals about our event, the more we kept hearing ‘Why don’t you just bring JMBLYA out here? The kids all love that brand and they want to experience it closer to home in Arkansas.’ Well…we have listened and we look forward to seeing you all in October.”
Keeping with the tradition of its Texas stops that will continue for an eighth consecutive year in 2020, the new JMBLYA Arkansas will offer Northwest Arkansas residents a carefully curated lineup that blends some of today’s biggest national hip-hop artists alongside exciting up-and-comers.
The 2019 headliner is Chicago-born rapper/singer Juice Wrld, who continues to transcend the music industry with a string of critically-acclaimed hits, including “Lucid Dreams,” “All Girls Are the Same” and “Armed and Dangerous”– all of which have cumulatively surpassed over 20 million RIAA certified units across albums, singles and features over the last year. Alongside Juice will be Atlanta-native and emcee Playboi Carti, who continues to perform in support of his debut album, Die Lit, which was released in late 2018 to critical acclaim and is widely known for the viral hit “Magnolia.”
Other notable performers include Charlotte-based rapper DaBaby, best known for a string of recent hip-hop hits, including smash radio single “Suge” and Murda Beatz, Canadian-born producer/songwriter best known for producing countless recent hit tracks including Drake’s “Nice for What”, Gucci Mane’s “Back on Road” and “No Frauds” by Nicki Minaj. Murda Beatz last performed at the Walmart AMP in August 2018.
Also set to perform is Lil Keed, who is currently signed to Young Thug’s YSL Records and just released his latest mixtape, Long Live Mexico, in June and Mobile-born, Sacramento-raised rapper OMB Peezy, who released his long-awaited debut album Preacher to the Streets this past April.
Stay tuned as additional JMBLYA details, including the full performance schedule will be announced in the weeks ahead.
