ADD

Shelana Azora, Richandell

ADD · 2026

Shelana Azora brings ADHD awareness into her music with ADD, a raw RnDrill track exploring the effects of neurodivergence on relationships and self-esteem. Blending the melodic qualities of R&B with the harder edges of UK Drill, the song gives voice to the frustration of feeling misunderstood while navigating everyday life. The track combines bouncy melodies with gritty bass, creating a contrast between its rhythmic energy and its more vulnerable subject matter. Produced by Netherlands-based artist Richandell, ADD is designed for reflective late-night listening, with its personal perspective placing emotional honesty at the centre of the song. Released in the context of ADHD Awareness Month in October, the track addresses both diagnosed and undiagnosed experiences. Rather than treating the subject as an abstract issue, Azora connects it to the pressures of maintaining relationships, protecting self-esteem and trying to communicate feelings that others may not fully understand. That willingness to draw on personal experience fits the wider direction of Azora's music. Born in Dominica and raised in East London, she began writing songs as a child after discovering Alicia Keys. Her influences later expanded to include Eminem, Lauryn Hill, Aaliyah and Rihanna, helping shape an approach that moves between singing, rapping, R&B and hip-hop. Her debut EP, Epiphany, released in 2019, introduced a sound built around hard-hitting beats, metaphorical lyrics and themes of self-love. Azora has continued to resist being confined to a single genre, instead treating musical experimentation as an important part of her identity. With ADD, that flexibility serves a clear purpose. The combination of UK Drill's weight and R&B's melodic expression gives Azora room to explore a subject that can affect confidence and connection in deeply personal ways. The result is a track that brings ADHD awareness into a contemporary UK sound while keeping its focus on the experience of feeling seen and understood.
