She Doesn't Know
TEHYA
TEHYA Explores the Vulnerability of Silent Love on She Doesn't Know Some feelings are difficult to express, especially when friendship makes the possibility of love more complicated. On She Doesn't Know, Toronto singer-songwriter TEHYA explores the vulnerability of loving someone quietly, capturing the small gestures, unspoken emotions and private hopes that can exist when the other person has no idea how deeply they are loved. The track is the highlight of Things We Don't Say, a five-song EP released on October 23, 2026. Across the project, TEHYA follows different experiences of love, from unrequited feelings and heartbreak to missed opportunities and the uncertainty of discovering that someone might feel the same way. She Doesn't Know brings the journey to one of its most intimate moments, focusing on the things people do for someone without ever revealing their true intentions. The EP also connects with the stories explored in earlier songs. It's You follows the pain of falling for a best friend who becomes engaged, while Burn For Me explores the desire for someone who can match the same intensity. Love Overdose considers the fear of taking a friendship further, and Pick Up shifts the perspective towards the people who remain beside us even when our choices lead us in the wrong direction. TEHYA approaches music with the discipline and curiosity she has developed through years of martial arts training, including jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai. She taught herself ukulele, piano and guitar before experimenting with vocal layering on GarageBand, eventually beginning to release her own songs while still in eighth grade. Now studying at York University, the 19-year-old continues to develop her songwriting through personal experiences and emotionally direct storytelling. With She Doesn't Know, TEHYA captures a particularly delicate side of love, where the strongest feelings are sometimes the ones never spoken aloud.
