The upcoming run pairs musicians Blossoms, The Streets, and Sasha Keable with a rather eclectic group of hosts.
For Blossoms, the appearance arrives at an ideal promotional juncture. The Manchester quintet release their sixth studio album, Songs From The Wedding Cake, on Friday, October 2. The televised performance lands right on release night, capping off a nostalgic and active stretch for the group. They recently celebrated the tenth anniversary of their self-titled debut record with an intimate hometown show, while frontman Tom Ogden stepped out for a cameo appearance alongside Niall Horan. Bringing brand new material directly to a national audience on the day an LP reaches shops and streaming platforms remains one of the sharpest promotional moves available to a modern British band.
The Streets will also take to the studio floor, maintaining an already brisk period of touring. Mike Skinner and his band spent recent months revisiting their 2004 concept album, A Grand Don't Come For Free, delivering full run-throughs across a string of major dates, while also locking down additional tour stops for the end of the year. Their arrival on the programme reinforces the production team's interest in pulling across different eras of homegrown music. The music roster for this block is completed by Sasha Keable, who returned in 2025 with her EP Act Right and caught ears earlier this year by layering traditional soul blueprints with rough-edged modern vocals.
The hosting roster for these final three nights leans into familiar names from film and television. Danny Dyer steps up to the monologue and sketch duties fresh from winning a BAFTA for his work on Mr Bigstuff. He is joined in the rotation by James Norton, familiar to audiences from dramatic turns in Happy Valley, McMafia, and House Of Guinness. The third slot goes to Cynthia Erivo, the Wicked star and three-time Academy Award nominee.
These bookings follow a rapid start to the second season, which opened earlier this month with hosts Jeff Goldblum, Jamie Demetriou, and Amelia Dimoldenberg, accompanied by musical performances from CMAT, Royal Blood, and Rachel Chinouriri. The series initially got underway back in March, launching with former American cast member Tina Fey in the host chair and Wet Leg handling music. In the months that followed, the studio hosted actors Riz Ahmed, Nicola Coughlan, and Jamie Dornan, alongside performances from Foo Fighters, Kasabian, and MEEK.
While the format has found its footing on screen, the comedy sketches have provoked plenty of conversation outside the broadcast. With only three broadcasts remaining before the studio goes dark until 2027, this coming run wraps up an eventful debut year for the franchise. Watching whether Dyer takes naturally to live sketch comedy, Skinner brings his familiar stage presence, or Blossoms translate their new record to the small screen will show whether the British edition can sustain the momentum it has built up so far.
