Festival organisers rarely look this far down the road, but London's British Summer Time Hyde Park is already sketching out its plans for 2027. Bon Jovi will play the Great Oak Stage on Thursday, June 24, 2027, becoming the first confirmed headliner for that edition. The booking carries a distinct sense of symmetry. When the festival launched back in 2013, the New Jersey rock group headlined the opening run, introducing the brand to central London with a performance stacked with cornerstones such as Livin' on a Prayer, You Give Love a Bad Name, and It's My Life. Returning fourteen years after that opening weekend anchors the veteran group squarely within the history of the event.

Frontman Jon Bon Jovi described the date as a full circle moment, citing the band's extensive performance history in the capital. The singer noted that the current tour has focused on celebrating their songbook alongside listeners who have followed the group across multiple decades. Reflecting on the reception they typically encounter from British audiences, he explained that bringing the current momentum of their live shows back into Hyde Park holds genuine personal meaning for the band.

That momentum comes on the heels of a long, uncertain road back to the stage. Jon Bon Jovi underwent serious surgery on his vocal cords in 2022, an intervention that brought extensive touring to an abrupt halt while he focused on rehabilitation. This past June, the singer confirmed that he had made a complete recovery from the operation. The subsequent dates on their Forever Tour have functioned as concrete evidence of that return, with the band taking on heavy live commitments in major markets.

The box office figures from the tour underscore that demand. The recent run included nine consecutive sold-out performances at Madison Square Garden in New York before crossing the Atlantic for high-capacity European dates. Across Britain and Ireland, the group filled stadium stands in Edinburgh and Dublin, in addition to three sold-out nights at Wembley Stadium in London. The Hyde Park booking places them back in front of a massive outdoor London crowd on the back of those stadium turnouts.

Jim King, chief executive of promoter AEG Presents, welcomed the booking by recalling the group's contribution to the festival's beginnings in 2013. He highlighted the depth of the band's catalogue as well as an arena-scale stage production that continues to draw international visitors, framing the return as a notable date for London gig goers.

The ongoing tour also runs parallel to fresh activity in the studio. Following the 2024 release of their album Forever, the band put out an expanded companion project titled Forever (Legendary Edition). That record revisited the original tracks through an assortment of guest appearances, pairing the group with rock veterans Bruce Springsteen, Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott, and Robbie Williams, as well as Avril Lavigne. The tracklist also welcomed American roots and country performers including Jason Isbell, Lainey Wilson, and Jelly Roll, along with Mexican vocalist Carín León.

Organisers will reveal additional acts for the 2027 summer series in due course. The announcement lands on the heels of a broad 2026 Hyde Park roster that featured Garth Brooks, ATEEZ, Maroon 5, Mumford & Sons, Duran Duran, Pitbull, and Lewis Capaldi. For those planning well ahead, tickets for Bon Jovi's headline performance on June 24, 2027 will be available starting Friday, October 23 at 10am BST.
