Chris has cleared the decks and headed straight for the dancefloor. With the arrival of Rendez-vous Avec Toi, Christine And The Queens steps into an unabashedly physical, groove-centred mode, pairing funk rhythms and vintage disco pulse with a run of sold-out club dates across Europe.
The track arrives in two parallel editions, issued in French as Rendez-vous Avec Toi and in English as Rendez-vous In Your Arms. Lyrically, both takes dwell on the ache of anticipation, framing romantic longing around the electric wait for an overdue late-night reunion. When discussing the writing around the launch, Chris highlighted the pull between partners and the weight of devotion, pointing to a stylistic blend inspired by the syncopation of New York jazz alongside the electronic drive of Giorgio Moroder. It makes for an inviting piece of pop, replacing heavy sorrow with warmth, swing, and steady synthetic momentum.
Visually, the release sidesteps oversized staging in favour of pure physical expression. Co-directed by Chris and Raphaël De Albuquerque, the accompanying music video was shot on location in Paris and centres on choreography conceived by Alexander Ekman. The dancing mirrors the celebratory, buoyant pulse of the rhythm section, letting human movement carry the song rather than leaning on theatrical set pieces or elaborate narrative devices.
The single also acts as an opening volley for four underplay concerts set for next month. Taking over intimate spaces in London, Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam, the short run has already cleared every ticket at the box office. Heading into smaller rooms gives Chris the chance to road-test fresh arrangements, feel out crowd responses, and settle into new rhythms away from the glare of an arena tour. On stage, he will be joined by a four-piece outfit featuring Vincent Taeger, Vincent Taurelle, Adrian Edeline, and Karl Onibuje. Together, the group is slated to preview selections from the forthcoming record while rebuilding familiar catalog staples from the ground up.
This shift in texture follows an exceptionally busy stretch of reinvention. After releasing the expansive studio project Paranoïa, Angels, True Love in 2023, Chris adopted the moniker Rahim Redcar for 2024's Hopecore. Collaborative threads have run through the work as well, most recently surfacing on January's Ah Ya, a joint release with Thee Diane. Their creative relationship stretches back to 2022, when Thee Diane appeared on the cover of Redcar Les Adorables Étoiles before the pair later shared a stage at Paris's Centre Pompidou. Those efforts came on the heels of an active 2025, during which Chris revived long-dormant material on stage in the French capital while publicly calling out Lorde earlier that year for borrowing from his work without giving credit.
An official title and street date for the next Christine And The Queens record remain under wraps, but the creative groundwork is done. After wiping his social feeds clean, Chris recently posted images from behind the studio mixing desk, adding a short message to confirm that the songs were officially cooked. With the groundwork laid and these tight European shows on the immediate horizon, the focus stays locked directly on the groove.
