David Guetta is heading back to London for the biggest solo arena show of his career. The French producer and DJ has locked in Saturday, June 5 at The O2, anchoring the electronic side of a summer calendar assembled to commemorate two decades of live entertainment under the Greenwich tent.
The landmark dome in North Greenwich originally opened to the public as the Millennium Dome in December 1999. Following extensive redevelopment, it relaunched in June 2007 as The O2 Arena. In the two decades since that second debut, the room has hosted upwards of 3,000 productions and drawn more than 100 million visitors through its doors. Venue organizers are celebrating that 20 year span with a broad run of summer concerts, placing Guetta at the center of the programming.
For this appearance, Guetta will deploy the Monolith Tour, an arena and stadium scale visual setup he has traveled with across the past two years. That run has already stopped in Germany, Belgium, and Portugal, along with three separate shows at the Stade de France. Reflecting on those stadium dates, Guetta pointed out that London has been an essential fixture throughout his working life, adding that setting a personal attendance milestone in the city gives the upcoming performance extra significance.
The building management views the booking as a natural fit. Christian D'Acuna, Vice President of Programming at The O2, described Guetta as one of electronic music's most enduring and influential figures, remarking that the DJ's cultural reach aligns directly with what the arena has tried to represent across its 20 years. In D'Acuna's view, the June 5 date will be one of the standout occasions of the entire birthday season.
The wider celebration covers a sprawling list of styles between May and July. Maisie Peters gets the schedule underway on May 8, followed by Shreya Ghoshal on June 4, the night before Guetta takes the stage. Indie pop artist Sombr is booked for a five night stand with shows on June 21, 22, 24, 25, and 29. Tennis champions Billie Jean King and John McEnroe take over the venue for a sports entertainment appearance on June 27, before the music resumes in July with veteran reggaeton star Don Omar on July 5 and British singer Jorja Smith on July 17. The venue has confirmed that additional artists will join the bill in due course.
Ticket sales for the June 5 show will roll out in two stages. A presale window opens at 10am on Wednesday, September 30, accessible via the Priority app for customers of O2 and Virgin Media broadband. General sale tickets will follow two days later, going live to the public at 10am on Friday, October 2.
The announcement lands after a high profile summer run that included notable onstage reunions for Guetta. During recent live sets, he shared a stage with Sia and Afrojack to play their 2011 track Titanium together for the first time as a trio. Sia also joined him for Beautiful People, their collaborative single. When that song first appeared, Guetta singled out Sia as one of the era's essential vocalists and writers, remarking that their creative connection has stayed fresh since they first partnered more than ten years ago. That history, coupled with the heavy visual production of the Monolith setup, makes his return to Greenwich one of the major dance music fixtures of the coming summer.
