Iron Maiden were not originally planning to work in 2027. The initial intention was to leave the calendar clear once their fiftieth anniversary commitments wound down. Instead, the British heavy metal veterans have scheduled a final sixteen date journey across North America for the spring of 2027. This run serves as the concluding chapter of their Run For Your Lives tour, expanding an anniversary campaign that kicked off in May 2025 with an additional string of arenas, amphitheaters, and festival appearances.

The choice to return across the Atlantic came out of their 2026 North American shows. Bassist Steve Harris noted that the band members were having such a good time on the road that they met to reconsider their scheduled break. A major consideration was reaching geographic pockets that missed out on earlier stretches of the tour, particularly audiences in the Pacific Northwest and the American Southeast. Harris acknowledged that while they cannot visit every single city, the group felt it was right to play for those long supporting crowds before retiring the production. Manager Rod Smallwood shared that perspective, pointing out that recent crowds across North America were among the largest the group had ever drawn. Smallwood also confirmed that the touring Eddie's Dive Bars attraction will accompany the spring itinerary.

The closing leg begins on April 14, 2027 at the Tacoma Dome in Washington, quickly heading into Canada for a performance at Vancouver's Rogers Arena. From there, the routing runs through Portland, several outdoor amphitheaters across California, Phoenix, and Dallas. The first week of May is devoted to the Southeast, with dates scheduled in Tampa, West Palm Beach, Atlanta, and Raleigh. Following shows in Hartford and Belmont Park, the tour finishes with back to back festival appearances: Sonic Temple in Columbus, Ohio on May 14, and Boardwalk Rock in Ocean City, Maryland on May 16. Support on the arena and amphitheater bills comes from fellow British acts Bullet For My Valentine and The Raven Age. Ticketing opens with an Iron Maiden Fan Club presale on Monday, October 19 at 10am local time, with other presales taking place throughout the week ahead of the general public sale on Friday, October 23 at 10am.

The Run For Your Lives production has followed a strict historical boundary since it began. Rather than drawing across their entire career, the band pulled their setlist exclusively from their first nine studio albums, running from the self titled 1980 debut through to 1992's Fear Of The Dark. That same retrospective framework anchored their summer appearance at Knebworth in July, billed as EddFest, where Maiden headlined alongside The Darkness, The Hu, Airbourne, and The Almighty.

The newly announced shows also extend the run for the band's current stage lineup. Longtime drummer Nicko McBrain retired from the physical rigors of extensive touring in December 2024, after which Simon Dawson stepped in behind the kit. Dawson has maintained rhythm duties alongside Harris throughout the anniversary dates.

These tour dates arrive alongside notable external developments for the group. Maiden are scheduled to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next month, though they have announced they will not attend the event in person. Outside the live sphere, business arrangements have also shifted, following the sale earlier this year of a 50 percent stake in their music catalogue and likeness rights to Pophouse Entertainment, the Swedish investment group behind the ABBA Voyage project. Even with those corporate transactions underway, the band remain focused on live performances, wrapping up their golden anniversary under the stage lights.
