Australian pop artist Robert Baxter returns with BRB, the hard hitting focus track from their new EP PARTYANIMAL, released September 18.
Built around confidence, attitude and a sharp sense of humor, BRB explores what happens when someone tries to undermine your success. The track grew from an experience Robert had with someone in the music industry who was dismissive toward them, only for that same person to later approach members of Robert’s creative team.
Rather than allowing the situation to become discouraging, Robert turns it into fuel. The song carries a clear message about knowing your worth and refusing to let other people define your position.
Musically, BRB sits within the club focused world of PARTYANIMAL, combining energetic production with the unapologetic personality that has become central to Robert’s pop identity. Beneath the bold delivery, however, there is a more vulnerable side. The new EP explores the relationship between nightlife, desire, confidence and the emotions that remain after the party ends.
BRB opens PARTYANIMAL and introduces the EP’s central contrast between its ferocious, high energy production and the more personal ideas running underneath the surface. Robert describes the project as their most club forward work yet, embracing an energetic and uninhibited approach while leaving space for vulnerability.
The release arrives during a major period for the Australian artist. Robert is currently supporting Ashnikko across Australia and New Zealand, following performances including Auckland Town Hall and sold out shows at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre. Further dates in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth are part of the tour.
