Zach Bryan is not interested in prolonged album rollouts. The songwriter took to Instagram to reveal the tracklist for an upcoming eight-song project titled Young Manhood & Other Donatable Organs, scheduled to arrive this Friday, October 16th through Warner Records. With pre-orders already open, listeners have only a matter of days to process the tracklist before the full release lands.
At eight tracks, the release lands in the middle ground between an extended play and a brief, focused studio record. Bryan bypassed the standard promotional schedule entirely, opting instead to post the titles straight to his feed and send audiences directly to the pre-order page. Among the eight selections, two guest appearances stand out immediately for very different reasons.
The first is Lana Del Rey, who joins Bryan on a song titled “Lies.” On paper, the pairing bridges two distinct worlds that nevertheless find common ground. Del Rey has spent years working through themes of romance, heartache, and disillusionment using a distinctly cinematic, moody strain of Americana. Bryan tends to operate on the opposite end of the production spectrum, leaning into sparse arrangements and plainspoken delivery. How those two perspectives meet on “Lies” makes the track an immediate focal point of the tracklist.
The other notable collaboration keeps things closer to home. Fellow Oklahoma favorites Turnpike Troubadours join Bryan on “Plainsman,” a song whose title directly evokes the geography and regional background shared by both artists. Bringing in a veteran Oklahoma act offers a grounded, familiar counterpart to the pop presence of Del Rey, tying the project back to the roots Bryan and the Troubadours share in their home state.
Dropping an eight-track collection with guest spots of this profile on only a few days of notice reflects Bryan's ongoing preference for working fast and keeping the gap between finished songs and listeners as narrow as possible. When Young Manhood & Other Donatable Organs arrives on Friday via Warner Records, it will add yet another spontaneous entry to an already crowded catalog.
